Hi! I'm new to this...just bought a Cricut Mini. Trying to cut fonts on a regular cardstock. I believe I have the correct settings, pressure etc but it really shreds no matter what I do. The cuts are unusable. What am I doing wrong??? So frustrated! It just leaves a mess on the mat that I have to scrape off. Ugg. Hope there is a simple answer :)

Have you tried cutting with different papers? Or different settings?

Check the blade, sometimes when papers shred (happens to me sometimes), little bits get caught around the blade and sneak up into the housing.

Change the paper

Clean the mat

Move the cut to another part of the mat, I know this sounds weird, but there was a bad part (like a bit of paper fuzz, or a deep cut into the mat from previous cuts, like a worn spot) in my mat and it would catch sometimes.

Hope these suggestions help
