The date has been set for CROPPIN WITH MY FRIENDS 2014! This is the 4th annual Croppin With My Friends! It will be held the weekend of October 17,18, and 19. This year there will be a change in location which I hope will be a positive change! The crop will be held at Camp Summit (There are a couple pictures HERE). I have been to crops at the camp before and it is a very nice place. In the fall the trees are pretty and there are walking paths if you want to take a break and go for a walk down by the lake. There are over night accommodations at the camp so no need to make motel reservations this year, making the crop and even better bargain!! The final crop price hasn't been set yet, but will still be very reasonable. This is not a money maker for me, after expenses all extra money goes towards door prizes! Your crop fee will include: all meals, overnight accommodations, plenty of table space for crafting, door prizes, goodie bag, and use of our cricut/cartridges. All you need to bring is your craft supplies, a snack to share, sleeping bag (or bedding of your choice) and towels, and something for each participants goodie bag.
The camp is located between Moline and Galesburg, in Illinois, off of Route 150. directions will be provided closer to the crop to those attending.
Crop T-shirts will be available to order in advance.

Mark your calendars and plan to attend this fun weekend crop! I can take your reservation anytime, but crop fees will not be due until much closer to crop time.

If anyone has any questions, feel free to post on here, pm me, or email me at bitsy2@ymail.com

Not sure what we would do with the men...let me look into it! The sleeping rooms are 3 large rooms that sleep several in each, so sure some women might be uncomfortable with a man they don't know in the room. I will look into it!

Hey Miss Janice....Do you know roughly how much each person will have to pay? I went to the site and it's a beautiful place...LOVE IT...great choice!!!! I'm excited...and I did ask my MIL if she would like to come alone this year...she said she wouldn't mind...just need to know the price.

Rhonda, it would be soooo wonderful if you can come again this year! I have missed you! And your MIL too....that would be great too! As far as price, I am thinking it will be somewhere right around $100 for the weekend, all meals included, as well as over night accommodations. Of course after food and rent, anything left will go to door prizes as this is not a money maker for me, just a chance to be 'croppin with my friends'! Even if I have to raise it to the $100, it is still cheaper than what I was doing since you won't have to worry about motel rooms. I will be out there in March for a quilt retreat/crop and hope to nail down the exact price then. Hope you have it marked on your calendar!!

Planning on it - just have a few things to get in order by end of summer - then I will know :) I work part time now and November is a rather busy month, but I think the October dates will work great if I have my notices done ahead of time.

Seems like forever since I've been on the MB, but I've been thinking of you GrandmaJ!
How are the plans going for the retreat, do you have a lot of people signed up yet? I just sent Diana an email and we'll get back to you in a couple of days. The link to the camp is not working for me....would you be able to post another link. I'd love to see what the camp looks like again.
Thanks for taking the time to organize this, it's not an easy task.BigGrin

Hi Denice! They evidently have changed their website, sorry about that! I finally found this one, which has some links on the bottom of it. http://cfyouthhope.org/o...camp/facilities-rentals/ Summit Lodge is the one we will be using, unfortunately they only show outside pictures of it, so I will post some of my pics from last quilt/scrap retreat. There are some nice walking paths you can use when you want to get out for a bit. It is really pretty there I think and in the fall, depending on the weather the leaves can be quite colorful!

The room with the flat ceiling is the smaller room, which would probably be the quilters. And there are 3 (I think) bunk rooms, so plenty of beds, and sometimes no one has to sleep in a top bunk!!

The time has come to let me know if you are seriously planning on coming to this weekend crop! I know it is still early but we need to be getting a rough idea of how many scrappers will be attending. (there are some local scrapbooking ladies who were at the spring quilt retreat and they are waiting to hear if there will be room for them this fall!) Also need to give the camp an estimate of how many will be there for the weekend so they won't rent out part of the building to another group!! SO...please let me know in the next few days if you are still planning on coming. I hope you all are, and I hope more of you will consider joining us in Illinois for a fun weekend crop!!
Fees are still not due, and won't be until towards the end of August. The final amount will be determined soon but it should be around $100-125 for the whole weekend.
