I added faux stitching with a white Gelly Roll #3 gel pen and a Ladybug brad. I misted the white floral cut with Pearl Ex "Super Russet" mist.

My Sketch Card Sample #3

Papers and Strips - "Romantic" stack by Recollections
Circle - LACEY LABELS cartridge
Embossing - "Baby's Breath" CB folder
Sentiment - Close to My Heart acrylic stamp from the "Sincere Expressions" collection
Leaves - "Branch w/leaves" die cut by Sizzix
Tiny Flowers - Recollections mini punch...I added green bling to centers.
All the Beige color cuts have a very pretty sheen to them that doesn't show up very well. In person, I think it gives the card a very elegant look.

Inside of #4 Ex. Credit

I made it so it swings open , since the card didn't have too many places to weld it. It swings with the flower brad.

Thanks again for hosting Josie, love the sketches and will try and get started today. They are keeping Mom in the hospital till Friday just for precautionary measures to make sure they get rid of all the fluid so we won't be taking her home till the following week.

#1 This a great card, I love the ladybug theme and your faux stitching. Great cut in the middle, I think you have used Sophie more than I have LOL

#2 I love this card, I love everything about it, the colors are perfect. That leaf die cut is fabulous nice clean cut.

#3 COOL! I love how you used the diamond glaze it almost looks like a nice shinny brad.

Extra credit - adorable adorable adorable. What a great way to make it open that is a great idea when you can't weld it. All the embossing and everything is perfect. You make me very proud, I can tell that you are working hard and really taking your time to improve your card making and take it to the next levelBigGrin

Well I kind of lucked out a bit this week. I had made sketch # 2 when it came out on Mojo Monday a few weeks back, I guess it was a good thing because with what is going on with my Mom my craftroom time will be a little short.

Sketch #2
The background paper I made using watercolor paper, water, water color crayons and Glimmer Mist. I was very pleased with how it turned out.
The flower is a two step stamp from Rubbernecker stamps. It is a little tricky as you have to stamp the flower and then line it up and stamp the stems. I stamped it and triple matted it. The scalloped circle is cut from Craft Room Basics and stamped with a Verve stamp. I added some faux stitching around the flower and the circle. I used 3 different embossing folders along the bottom. TFL

TurtleBug, thank you for the sketches. What a time for my printer/scanner to break down! Now I am going to have to spend money for a new one. I hope I get a chance to make at least one card from the sketches. Love your examples and also those who have already made cards. Your extra credit card is just darling.

Turtlebug...Great sketches and wonderful examples.

I'm heading out of town soon, but I did wanted to post this card. I tried to follow sketch #1, but nothing I did looked right and I didn't have time to color another image. I had used a nesti die-cut, but I ended up cutting it off the image. Now it looks nothing like the sketch, but I tried. javascript:insertsmiley('Sad%20','/forum/Images/Emoticons/cr_sad.gif')

Donna...thanks for posting the colors...and I hope your mom is OK.

Have a nice weekend everyone.

#2 - LOVE the colors and pretty flowers, very interesting technique you used. The BG paper you created is very nice and like how it matches the flowers.... What medium did you use for coloring the flowers, looks like watercoloring(?), like the look of it.

BingoLady
#1 - Is "Live Simply" a new cartridge? Don't think I have heard of it before. Like the colors of the BG pattern and scalloped center cut is nice with the simple "HI" on it. Nice card!

Kiethann
Sorry about your printer problems. I went through the same thing and bought a new printer last month. This one is so complicated, it has for CD/DVD, WiFi, photos, personal secretary, coloring book, greeting cards, etc....heck if I know what half this stuff is for!LOL I miss my old one,I just want one that copies, prints/scans and takes my memory card and I will be a happy camper!Laugh Good luck and hope you are able to craft this week.

Dee
Beautiful and so girly!! LOVE the lace border all around and the cute image, all the other details, but....that little 3 yr. old cutie is a splitting image of your cute curly-haired granddaughter, minus the gloves, of course.(remember the picture of her you shared with us last year?)! Hope you get to finish your other sketches when you return.

I'm off to watch my Arizona Wildcats play in the Sweet Sixteen. Hope they advance to the Elite Eight!ThumpUp

Hello everyone. I got my sketch #1 done I shifted it a bit and used leaves instead of the bow. It is also in the ad colors, yes all 5 of them are in there, thanks to patterned paperBigGrin
The Paper is from a K&Company paper pack. The center lace circle is cut from Artiste cartridge. The flower is from my stash that I made a while ago so not sure which cartridge it is from. TFL

Thanks
I used Tim Holtz Distressed inks and randomly dabbed a couple different colors, then just before stamped I misted the stamp lightly with water and then gives it a watercolor effect when stamped. Tim Holtz ink react well with water

Mom is finally coming home from the hospital today, what was suppose to be just one overnight stay turned into 4 nights in the hospital. She is doing well, a bit weak and very glad to come home and eat some GOOD food. BigGrin

Bingolady - Sketch #1 Like the color combination on the papers you used. Nice embossing and is that a sparkly stamp in the center?
Sketch #2 very pretty card, love the gray and yellow together and all the layers of embossing. So glad to see you are stamping more, helps to add that sentiment to your cards.

Dee - that for stopping in and posting your card. I love it! The birthday banner is great and love the image of the little girl with that curly hair just like your little Olivia. So girly with that lace all around the edge.

Hello, Ladies --

Glad to see everyone is still creating beautiful cards. I peak in from time to time to see what you have been up to. I have been crafting, but not making many cards. I need to get back in the swing of card making.

Here is my take on Sketch #1. The doily is from Creative Cards. The roses and leaves is from Flower Shoppe. I made the bow from the envelope punch board from a video on You Tube.

Just got the new Explore last weekend and what a difference in the cuts. Almost like night and day.

Have a great weekend!

Hi Ladies,
Happy week-end! Well, my Az Wildcats play in the Elite Eight today and hopefully move on to the Final Four at 5:45pm. My precious 11 yr. old grandson Joey has his first Little League baseball game today at 5:00pm. My dear friend, (who is as wild about our Wildcats as I am) asked which one I chose to watch. I told her "I love my Wildcats, but I love my grandson more". So, I will be at the ballpark!! I did finish my Ad Color card using Sketch #1 and I will comment on all these awesome cards being posted, later tonight.

My Ad Color Card:
Image - Cut from an old Calendar page with Spellbinders and I added chipboard behind it to make it pop.
Embossing - Cuttlebug "Cane Back Chair" folder
Sentiment - CTMH "Life is Tweet" acrylic stamp collection, added a heart brad
Corner Hearts - Mini punch by "ki"
I used embroidery thread for the ribbon and bow. Sorry, no Cricut!Wink

OK, I got my sketch #2 done and in the extra credit "made for a male"
The "sky" paper is from Paper Pizazz and then I embossed it using my Darcie cloud embossing folder. The bottom paper is from DCWV Flower Shop stack. The sentiment I wrote using my sketch pens and then cut the circle around it. The branch and dragonfly are stamps.
