Hi Everyone !

I am excited to start this swap as we have a nice BIG group of members. Please remember that it is important to stay in touch with your partner and also to post on this thread at least once per week...COMMUNICATION is KEY to FUN and SUCCESS ! ThumpUp Woot

You will buy and make items for a small package of gifts for your Swap Sister and mail it to her with a Special "Treat"... Now, here's the interesting part... Your "treat" can be CANDY, COOKIES, or others goodies that she has posted on her MQ as her favorite snacks.
The "Treat" item is not included in the $5.00 but should be small (like a $1.00 box of candy)
Your package should be able to be mailed in a Flat Rate Padded Priority Mail envelope, or other small package that will cost $6.00 or less in postage.

IDEAS: Use your stash ! Make items from supplies you already have... Make some Cricut cuts for her... Make some embossed card fronts ... Stamp some images on high grade card stock... Make some ribbon flowers... there are many things you can do to make items that your partner will love and have use for .

HOW IT WORKS : When you sign up - Tell everyone what kind of treat(s) you would like to have and be pretty specific. You can list up to 10 items for her to choose from. You may also use items that are listed in your partner's MQ for ideas..
However, you may only be receiving a few items off your list. Your partner can combine 2-3 things that cost $5. or less in TOTAL... All requests should be something that costs $5. or less !! That is all....Please do NOT ask for Cricut cartridges and other things that are expensive. Embossing folders and embellishments are fine, as they can be bought with coupons and are not too pricey. You should request at least one handmade item or Cricut cuts .

For example , you can tell the group that you would like :
1. Hershey kisses
2. Mini album with a baby theme
3. Spools of ribbons from $1.00 bargain bin
4. Gold , silver or Clear Stickles
5. An embossing folder with birds on it
6. Altered tags with a bird theme
7. Altered book box with Pastel colors
8. Cricut cuts from "Country Life"
9. A set of handmade"thank You" cards
10. Prima flowers in pinks

I want this to be an item that is inexpensive and EASY to mail !!

MORE RULES : PLEASE MAIL ON TIME !! Mail deadline is Friday, June 20th. Earlier mailings are fine if your partner agrees to it. Sometimes mailing early causes stress for your partner to finish hers so please consider her feelings in this.

Partners will exchange addresses in a PM. Please do not PM the hostess for addresses. Thank You ! Please do this right away and write it down so you dont delete it from your Inbox accidentally.

If you have never been in any of my swaps you must send me your contact info in order to be accepted in the swap. Name, address, email addy, and a phone #. This info is for the hostess only...it is to help reduce the possibility of allowing "flakers" in our swaps. Flakers are people who take and do not give...I will not accept FLAKERS. If you FLAKE out on this swap you will be banned from being in any more of my swaps. No excuses accepted. This one is too quick and easy for any excuses (other than you crossed over to the next Life !)

Once you receive your gift package, please POST A PHOTO of your Goodies and thank Your Partner in this Thread.... IT IS IMPORTANT TO DO THIS PLEASE !!!!!! ThumpUp

Sign-Ups are now closed....

You have until May 4th to post your wishes...or you may post now and revise up until May 4th.
So - beware that your partner may change something between now and Sunday night !!OhMyGod

BigGrin BigGrin Hi Girls !!I knew I could count on my "regulars" !! You KNOW who you are Wub Wink

Remember that you do not have to put 10 items in your package...just pick a couple of things from your partner's list and get creative Tongue Woot You all know how to do that very well !
Sometimes we can do a swap like this one without really spending money because you have things in your stash that you are not using and someone else really wants !!

If you see someone has an item on their list that they need and you want to "get rid of" let me know and I will see if I can pair you up with that person...no promises, but I will try to help you out with that. Wink The idea of the list is so you can pick items that will not be hard for you to provide to someone. This should be a "stress-less" swap. Wub

I am so happy that the signups are going well...Woot

Barb, that is so good to hear and just what I need. A little about my self. I fell
and broke my hip very bad last August and it's been a long healing process. I ended up retiring
and of course all my friends still work - and all shifts so I see them seldom. I need this and friends who have similar interests. It gets lonely even with my wonderful husband and kids. Am looking forward to being in this little family.

Golfingrams, I am a stay at home Mom of four. My oldest went to college this year, I have a sophomore in high school , then twin second graders. I know what you mean being lonely even with the kids and husband, all of my friends work outside of the home. My days are quiet with just myself and the dog in the house getting the housework done. Pretty much mass chaos from 2:45- 8:00. I do workout three mornings a week but that is about it.

I think you will find everyone around here friendly and willing to help. Looking forward to grtting to know you better.

Ok for my top 10

1. Coordinating cuts for a double 12x12 layout in a bathtime theme for a toddler girl
2. flourish in bling or pearls
3. Acrylic dots (the ones from melting pony beads)
4. If you don't feel comfortable with #3 then I'd love Pony beads
5. Carmelo or anything milk chocolate and caramel
6. zig fine point pen
7. the alphabet cut from Hello Kitty in black
8. mini clothes pins
9. Toilet paper roll (or paper towel roll) album
10. swappers choice - surprise me!

Question for you Barb, since the small flat rate box was changed from $5.50 to $5.85 if our stuff fits can we use that since it's only a .35 difference? Also, and I may have missed this so my apologies!!! if we are using things from our stash that doesn't count towards the $ amount right? Only what is actually spent (not counting the shipping of course)? Ty for clarifying. Just want to be sure I follow the rulesBigGrin

Hi Pinkbug - Yes of course you may use the small FRB...but here is an idea for you. Weigh your box first. If it is 13 ounces or less you can still mail it by First Class Mail for about $3.50 if you wrap it in brown paper, or place it inside of a large manila envelope. This way, your items get the added protection of the box, but without the big postage fee! ThumpUp Also, using PRIORITY MAIL is not a requirement. It is not faster than First Class. They just want us to think that it is...OhMyGod . The idea here is that I do not want people to spend a small fortune on postage - these should be small packages, but if someone makes a 12x12 layout, then it can be placed between cardboard pieces and taped up and mailed or using a box...I am not trying to dictate every detail here, but I am also encouraging "thriftiness" Woot If we keep these packets economical, then more people can participate I believe. Many swaps are very expensive and/or difficult. I want this one to be fairly simple and stress-free and inexpensive.
If you have brand new unopened items in your stash that you want to send a partner, you may include this in your $5. limit. If they are opened, I consider them to be a RAK. You see, I have my own personal stash of items that I use in my crafting, and I also have an ETSY Store room full of brand new inventory, so those items I would consider part of the $5., while the ones I have opened and partially used, are "stash" to me. Hope this helps Tongue
Sorry for the long explanation, but I wanted to be clear as possible Wub
