It's time for another set of sketches and colors. Everyone is welcome to participate. You can use all the sketches for inspiration and to challenge yourself or only do one or two. If you choose to use them, the Ad Colors will challenge you even further.

Extra credit will be to make a kid's card and but as any "extras" as you can on the front. (I just pulled that out of thin air! LOL)

Have fun....Dee

Here's my card for Sketch #2. It's for a friend who loves cats, and I just had to get this image when I saw it.

The image is from A Day For Daises Digital Stamps, the papers are from a 6x6 pack called "Story Teller" by Crate Paper. The oval doily is a die from My Favorite Things, and the tags are by Spellbinder.

Thanks, Dee

I did the last one first which covers the card for a child as well. This is for my new grand daughters christening in a couple weeks. I used new testament and the iron one... lol for the cuts.

Here is my Ad Colors and Sketch #3. The paper is from a 6x6 pack made by Doodlebug Designs and called "Stars and Stripes." Since I'm not sure how I will use the card, I haven't added sentiment.

#3 and Ad Colors - Very nice! Like the layered stars with the U-S-A letters on them, very colorful. Like the added details, too.

DeeScraps
#2 - Very cute kitty, like the lacey frame and play-on-words sentiment. Your cat lover friend is sure to enjoy receiving it!
#3 and Ad Colors - What a great mixture of patterns using only three colors. It is suitable for most any type of occasion. Nice to have ready to give by just adding a sentinent, for a last minute card.

sunnieday
#4 - Very pretty, the paper is so elegant looking, and the cross is beautiful. Like the simple gold accents and your DGD's name is very unusual and pretty. Enjoy her christening and share her christening photo with us, please. This card is sure to be a keeper!

Baby Capri Shay
YOU are ADORABLE!! Love your name, are you a Ballerina in the making?!!Smile

Hi there,
I haven't done one of these before...
As I'm having fun with my new Explore it was nice to test it out with this lacy design BigGrin
Mine is made like Sketch 2 and I liked mixing up the deep red with the shimmery blue.

Dee, very interesting choices of sketches for this challenge. Also like the ad color choices. thanks very much for choosing to be hostess this time. I am hoping to get back on here later to post comments on the cards made so far. This is the first break I have had from an onslaught of training and orientation sessions on my new job.

is so puurfect. The ad colors came out so nice, I like the way you used the paper
with the different designs.

Sunnieday, Pretty card, love the cross on it. Hope they safe it for her, so when she
grows up she can see what a pretty card you made for her. She is so beautiful.

Sarah...thanks for joint in. You did an awesome job with the sketch and the colors. I don't know a lot about the Explore, but I will check it out. Did you have an Expression before? It did a really nice job on cutting the doily.

I'll be back, Dee

My Sketch Card #2, Ad Colors and Ex. Credit...all rolled into one card.Smile I had lots of fun, not to mention the time it took to do this Extra Credit card, cause I just piled on all I could think of(and fit)to make it!LOL LOL

Cowboy, YeeHaw and Buckaroo - OLD WEST cartridge
Horses - Cuttlebug metal die
Happy B'day - Computer-generated
Silver Stars - ARTISTE cart using silver metallic cardstock, which look black when I posted the card. The three at the right are star gems.
Plaid Paper - Recollections "All Seasons" stack
Celebrate - Is a metal Brad
Circle - PLANTIN SCHOOL and embossed with "Wood Grain" CB folder
Added stars, rope, and a burlap ribbon through the Spellbinder tag. Used watercolor pencils, markers and gel pens to color the horses. The Sheriff is all in layers using red & blue cardstock. He does not have a dark face and light hands...I put "gloves" on himLOL LOL! I misted the "Buckaroo" with Super Russet Pearl Ex for a shimmery effect, which doesn't show up too well.
TFL!!Smile

****D-a-r-n!! Just noticed on my background paper that the RED lines scanned ORANGE...uuuugh!!!
I will take a picture of it instead and will repost it if the colors look better.

Bingolady....You did a wonderful kid's card, extra credit, and sketch #1. Your grandson will love it. I like the color combo and the feathers are a great touch. What embossing folder did you use? I couldn't tell. Good job.

I have a card half done, which I will finish and post tomorrow.

My Sketch Card #3

Picture - From an old calendar
Tag - Spellbinders "Grommet Tags" set
Sentiment - Close to My Heart "Just a Number" acrylic stamp set
Used twine as the dividing lines on the sketch and added flower Brads.

This is my #1 card and it's officially my first Christmas Card! I used scraps that were from the "Signature Christmas" pack by My Mind's Eye. It's certainly isn't your typical Christmas colors and I think that's why I like it.

I used an embossing folder by Darce, but I also didn't write down the name.

The large snowflake is a My Favorite Things Die-namic die, which I covered with Tsukineko Wheat colored chalk ink. I also sprinkled something called Deco Art Glamour Dust.

Well, none of the glitter shows up in the photo, but it's covered with a very fine dust-like glitter. The background paper also has some glitter lines.

Welcome home Donna. I'm so glad you had a good time.

Turtlebug...That was a very unique interpretation of the #3 Sketch. Did you have color twine or did you color it yourself? I like the sentiment on the die cut and how you added the brads.

Bingolady...Thanks for posting the image of the embossing folder that you used. It's one that I don't think I've seen before.

Dee
