I am in Uk,the Cricut Explore has been launched here today!! I was a Cricut girl for many years but due to buying another machine i sold my Expression,Gypsy and around 120 carts last year and have missed then dreadfully to be honest.I was looking to buy another Expression but am now interested in the new Explore machine. Can anyone tell me if it uses the old style mats and blades as i still have those, also kept the original tool kit.I am guessing the new tool kit is more or less the same? I am confused with the whole subs thing.I have some carts linked to CCR that i can use in Design space which is great but as i sold everything i am limited with designs at my disposal and am thinking the way to go is the subs to build up my design library. Can anyone tell me how the subs works and is it better to get the year or monthly. Thanks in advance for any adviceThumpUp

You do use the same mats with the Explore. The blades made for the Explore are not available yet but the blades from other cricuts can be used. Tool kit isn't much different but if you get the Explore you should have the new score tool and the markers. They make some of the projects so easy to do.

I haven't linked many cartridges yet to Design Space and think I'm going to go with the subscription. You do save a bit of money paying for the year in advance. You'll have access to lots of images...I think they say 25,000? or more.

Keep us posted if you decide to get one and how you like it. Love

Yes, you can download Design Space and play with it until your Explore arrives.

If you linked your old cartridges to Cricut Design Room they are already linked to Design Space when you open it.

When you get into Design Space you will see all of the images. You can play with any of them you want, but you of course can't cut any until you have your Explore. Then you can cut whatever you own and/or whatever you purchase from there.

Have fun & hope your Ex[plore gets to you fast.

I probably should make a new topic for this, but it fits in well here...
So, if you don't buy the sub, and instead buy - "by the piece" - do you pay each time you cut the image, or is it a one time purchase and it goes into your images? I'm still in my 15day trial and trying to decide if I want to just buy the pieces I want individually, or a sub?

Honestly I am not sure if I would use that many pieces as I prefer to do it my own way.
