Ladies, hope everyone is having a "Sparkler" of a week-end!Smile

#2 and Ad Colors - LOVE this card! How awesome to be able to make your own color paper, especially when it comes to the Ad Color Challenge. These pastel colors are right on and to be able to write the sentiment on it at the same time...I WANT AN EXLPORER!!" Your base cardstock and corner punches look like one solid piece and that you slipped the pastel card right into the corners. Love all the embossing and cute butterfly with the center Brad.

Valerie
#1 and Ex. Credit - Don't be sorry, remember..."great minds think alike"!ThumpUp
LOVE your card, the colors are so sharp and colorful. Like the anchor and steering wheel in place of the hearts. Picture is so pretty. Great card!
#2 and Ad Colors - The rose paper is so pretty, nice job working in all the ad colors. Like the embossed butterflies and paper pattern assortment, very nice card.
#3 - NICE!!! So colorful and bright, like the ribbon tabs and embossing. Don't know why when I see folders at the store I find very few I like or think I will use often enough to buy, then I see some of you Ladies use them on here and I love the way they look. I am then sorry I didn't get it when I saw it. I have never seen this one before, but I would buy it....I like it for male cards and "male enough" folders are hard to find.
#4 - How pretty, simple and soft! Like the white matting and HB'day frame and font. The simple Bling and flower adds a nice touch.

BingoLady
#2 & Ad Colors - Very nice Ad Color card, like the embossing on the sides and the cute present die cut.

Off to work on my #2 and #4 and look for the Ad Colors for one of them.Smile

Again it seemed to take me forever to get this card done, but I figured out one of the reasons it is taking me a bit longer than usual (I am always a slow card maker anyways) because I am learning to use my Explore and the new Design Space software.

Here is my sketch #4
Papers are from a pack I got at Tuesday Morning a couple years ago.
The birdcage is from the Bloom cartridge one I have hardly usedBlushing I wanted to try and cut something with skinny lines to see how my Explore did. This is not that intricate so will have to do another test later.
The Oval with the thank you is cut and then drawn or written with the pen in my Explore. I am really loving this option. TFL Hope to get my papers picked out for my next sketch before I close up for the night.

Hello everyone

last week I purchased a Cricut Expression 2 and I used it one time;
the next day when I tried to use it again it did not turn on.
I don't know what append, I check the power cords, I plug it into a different outlet and nothing happened;
what should I do?

Hi! Sorry you are having problems with your Expression. I am not computer or machine savvy so I can't help you, but we have some Ladies here that might be able to help you. However, when you do get it going again, please join our challenge and try out your new machine making some of our sketches. We would love to see your creations posted here.
Good Luck,

My #4 Sketch Card and Ad Colors:

Panels - All hand cut (Matted panels, matted banners and I ...cut on my machine just can not get along!LOL)
Embossing - Cuttlebug "Caneback Chair" folder and Darice "Butterflies" folder
Papers - Background paper from single sheet and cardstock for the panels
Buckle - Spellbinders "Ribbon Buckles" set. I matted with chipboard for more depth and added very light yellow sheer ribbon.
Happy B'day Oval - Is a Recollections 3-D sticker. It has a plastic dome top and is filled with tiny silver stars.
Oval - PLANTIN SCHOOLBOOK cart. Also matted with chipboard for depth.
Added a little Bling to the buckle and butterfly. On the two long panels I used core cardstock and it is bright yellow on the other side. I embossed and sanded the front side very lightly cause I didn't want too much of the bright yellow to show through....guess I should have kept sandingHuh Huh....wish a bit more would have showed when posted.

Sunnieday, wonderful cards, like all the décor and colors you used. The little
monkey so cute.

Donna nice # 4 , the little birdcage came out so nice.

Turtlebug, you also made a nice #4, like the way you added the buckle and I like the
way the HB sparkles.

Since I have never participated on one of these challenges, and I didn't know how literal I was supposed to be, I decided to interpret the sketch. I just improvised a bit.
Most of the design is my own.
The top flourish is from the Cindy Loo cartridge as well as the bottom left frame.
Te butterfly on the inside is from the simply sweet cartridge.
I tried distressing the edges but I didn't do a good job (have to work on my inking abilities)
Since I own no stamps I wrote the word Hi! with the cricut explore metallic violet pen, as well as the butterfly trail.
Soon I'll take more pictures with my good camera and upload the svg file to my blog (http://awesomesvgs.blogspot.com/)
Hope you like it.
Thanks TurtleBug for the invitation.

Hi Omar,
Welcome, you took the plunge!!!ThumpUp ThumpUp

You interpreted Sketch #4
:
Very nice, love how you made the panels to open up and the closure with the string. The color combo is very nice and bright. Like all the cutouts and especially how you did the butterfly trail and the "Hi", so creative! NanaDonna is my sister-in-law and she just got her new Explorer and told me how it allows you to write with the pens, just as you did. What a nice feature to have, she is loving her Explorer very much.
So happy you jumped in and gave it a try. Hope you try more of the sketches and share them with us! Anxious to see the new stamps you are creating with Spanish sentiments, they are hard to find in the USA, too.

BingoLady: Love the old calendars. I too use them all the time. Great card! Like the bordered strip w/wording. Great job!

Sunnieday: #1 Very pretty. Love the flower border & butterfly. Great job! #2 Like the lacy look of yellow and white piece. Flower is really pretty. #3 Love the background paper. Cute theme for the card. #4 Good masculine card. Like the corners on the pieces. Great job!

NanaDonna: #4 Love the paper patterns. Stripe pattern is soft and works so well with flowers. Everything goes so well together from the embossing to the paper and the bird cage.

TurtleBug: #4 Love the colors and pretty ribbon along with the embossing. Very nice!

Omar: Welcome to you! Great job on #4. Like the way it opens and the butterfly.

#1 - Pretty, like the light pink and dark red color combo. The floral border is nice and the butterfly is very pretty.
#2 and Ad Colors - Nice, the flower and leaves look like they are embroidered. The faux stitching adds a nice accent, like the sentiment, too.
#3 - How cute is this!!? How creative to position the Monkey "hanging in there". Love the colors and and the way you interpreted the sketch, very nice!
#4 - Great male card, perfect colors and patterns. The fish as the tab on the sketch is a very nice option.

NanaDonna
34 - Very pretty, love the paper patterns and colors!! The bird cage is so pretty, like the way you can see that you used glittered cardstock,(I always have a problem getting glitter cardstock to post right.) How do you get it to show so nice?? The embossing folder is perfect for this card.

BingoLady
Extra Credit Card - How cute!! Can't go wrong with Mickey and Minnie, the world's favorite couple. Very bright, fun and colorful card with the perfect sentiment.

Have a great day, everyone!!Smile

Sunnieday- I love the butterfly on your 1st card. The card using the AD colors is very nice with the doodling. The saying “hang in there” goes perfect with the monkey!!!! Your last card would make a nice card for a guy also.

Nana Donna-- #4 I like the floral and the stripes and the embossing folder you used behind the bird cage. #2 card- I like the effect from the sprays. Very pretty.
#3 card. Goad you got some inspiration from your son. I love the bear fishing.

Turtlebug- I love the owl on your #1 card. The colors and embossing make it stand out. The brown and green combo on your #2 card is a great combo. Also a great card for a guy.

Bingolady- Super cute card to go with the cute picture. I really like the red and white.

Val-#1—Beautiful photo card. Love the embellies
#2 Nice use of the ad colors. The butterflies are super cute.
#3 I think this card came out fine despite your problems.
#4 Perfect colors!!!!

Omar-thanks for joining us and sharing your card.

I think I got everyoneBigGrin

Here are my #2 & 3 cards.
#2 card is using the ad colors. I wasn't happy with it so I let it sit for a day or so and then saw the doodling on Sunnieday's card and thought that was exactly what mine needed. Thanks!!!!
My #4 card is the extra credit card. I used a picture from a photo Chrismas card I received years ago. I die cut the mat and bird. I still don't know if I like the ribbon choices but I do like the red, black & white color combo. It was hard to take picture without a glare, sorry.
The more I look at this card, I think I will go back and use something different for the ribbons. Maybe just some paper with cut ends.

Here's my #1 Card
I'm so into this group!
I found myself thinking about this card during work today.

Ever since ABC's Once upon a time show came out I'm a crazy for black & white Damask decoration.
I found great SVGs on http://all-free-download.../free-vector/damask.html that I used to print some white cardstock. for the front panels.

I know I said I owned no stamps, but I received my Tim Holtz's mini blueprints stamps today. Love them!

The button is a spare from a suit I made a while ago (I was so into sewing - http://www.burdastyle.co...toroa/my_studio/projects ) and the stamp inside was made from scratch.

I think the distressing came out better today.

Hope you like it!
PS: love the idea of using book pages as layers, Hadn't thought of it! Genius!!

I'm getting so much ideas from you guys, thanks for the invitation!

Thanks It doesn't always show up but this time it did. I think it was the paper that is more glittery than other glitter paper, plus I think my light just happened to reflect off the glitter.

#3 - Cute, cute! The image does remind me of your DS, this is exactly as he probably looks when he has "gone fishing"!Laugh Very fun card. What kind of sentiment would you add to it?

JeanP.
#2 and Ad Colors - Yes, this is what this challenge is all about...getting inspired by each other. Nice card, like your "doodling" with a dash-dot-dash-dot pattern on the panels. The simple "thanks" stamp I like very much.
#4 and Ex. Credit - Very nice and colorful. I think we all pretty much love the red, black and white color combo, cards always turn out so pretty with these colors. Like the bird image, nice way of repurposing old Christmas cards...which I have a ton of and need to use when making Christmas cards. Now, you have inspired me, see what I mean? I think the ribbon looks fine and goes with your color theme.

Omar
My goodness what can I say but.... Bravo!!!
#1 - This card is amazing, the damask paper you printed out looks like fabric and the design mix is great in this color combo. Love the camera image and the button is a nice embellishment. This is a perfect male card for any occasion. The simple "Feliz Cumpleanos" ("Happy Birthday") stamp you made for the inside is nice, too.
Now, don't get carried away doing too much daydreaming about making these sketches while working on your patients teeth, you might end up hurting someone!Laugh
