New idea to try for card-makers ! ZIPPER CARDS !!

You can place a sentiment underneath the "zipper" or you can stitch (or glue)2 layers of cardstock together with a GIFT CARD inside !! Great idea for Christmas !! Here is a link to the SVG file for one, but I beleive it can be made by simply using a Perforator or craft knife too...just make small cuts in 2 straight lines and bend back a Pull Tab.

jUDY, THANK YOU, need to get busy making cards. Have a ton of birthdays in family coming up. 6 in one week. Hope things are going well. I never understood why they admit close to week-end cuz nothing gets done, lol, unless medically indicated.

Barb - yes get it out - if you go to my boards, a board called Pootles - she has made tons with the board and has great videos. Her name is Sam McDonald and she is from the UK. I've made lots and lots of her stuff. Pen holders for all my markers for stamping, re-vamped that to a short one for E pens/markers. I bet last winter I made 100 boxes. It's an awesome tool.

Hugs - Patti

I am a little befuddled by this... did you use it or not ?

You can download the file to CCR or DS to use it.

Barb - had a very long post and message for Yenpeso Judy but not typing over. My fingers and brain don't always work together. Can't download SVG's and they tell me never could to CCR. So can't use Omars file. By mistake I bought wrong blade for big fiskars cutter that can do same thing. So going to try a card this week.

Yenpeso, will be thinking of you and be blessed, and the whole surgical team. The LORD be with you friend. Hugs Hugs Hugs and lots of prayers.

Hugs Patti

It would be nice if PC came out with a cartridge that had all of the basic card cuts on it... No embellishments or anything, just the ability to cut out the card base and score lines for things like a Shutter card, Floating card, Tri-fold Windows ...etc.... THis is a BASIC NEED !!

JCI - looking forward to getting started on my cards. We have been on vacation and are now remodeling our home. Our niece is coming to live with us from California. She is wanting to be a nurse and wants to go to school here in NC. We are so excited for her to come. I am hoping to get her to come join us here on Cricut.com as she loves to craft and she could learn to swap the right way and have a lot of fun.

Hope you all are having a great summer and are staying cool!

Evelyn, thank you so much. Surgery went very well, post-op check was excellent today. DD lives in Elizabeth City, they leave 8-21 for Germany for 2-3 yrs. dgs will stay in the house and going to college. They would like to actually rent part of it out. He could then stay in the guest part of the house upstairs. They just built it 2 yrs. ago before this Germany thing came up. Hugs - Patti

what cartridges can I find these card bases on?

thanks!

Oh my - They are really too numerous to mention. A lot of people cut them out free hand, or with Sizzix dies too.. For Halloween themes, there are lots of cards on the Creative Holiday Cards, MiniMOnsters, Happy Hauntings, Monster Bash , Pop-Up Neighborhood and probably some others. I made one last year using Creative Holiday cards that had a Tri-fold window in it with a spider web and then I made Spiders with SHrinky-DInks and hung them in the web. You can go to the Cricut shop and look through the thumb-nail pictures of what all is on a cartridge, or you can try going to www.mycutsearch.com and put in searches for things.
HOpe that helps.

I am working on cards today for lots of occasions..

ANyone who has never tried making a "Step" card before, I have just the thing to help you ... will be back later with pictures of it ! (tease tease tease....Wink LOL )

Mine are complete and will be mailed soon.

Here is a picture of mine. It is a 6X6 card with lots of layers. If someone wants all the measurements, I will have to measure again because I wrote them on the back of the mats. LOL The pumpkin is a die cut with a matching embossing folder. I just inked it up a little to match the oranges in the card papers.

Jean.... such a pretty card. Makes me want to throw my windows open and breathe in the crisp, fall air....... except it's still summer and hot as heck out!

Started working on mine last night. Have all of my pieces laid out on CCR and will be cutting today. SO. MANY. PIECES. Will be making a test card today to see if it's worth it.

Hello, everyone,

This is the first day I've been able to use the computer. I was in a coma for two days after surgery and then really confused. I had to be restrained to keep from pulling off my oxygen mask. It seems the carbon dioxide levels were to high. I was finally able to start physical therapy today. I don't think I'll be bouncing back, but the PT team seems to be very good.

Just wanted to think Nancy and Lori for lovely cards.

Take care everyone,
JudyLove

I think the easiest thing to do is to go to www.mycutsearch.com and type in the name of what you are searching for (like "heart cards") and it pops up for you ! Also go to Cricut.com and type in the name of a cartridge and it will pop up what is on it.

I have all of my pieces (so many!!!) for my cards cut and separated into baggies for gluing. Will be MIA for a few days and plan on gluing during any downtime. My test card came out soooo cute that it should be worth the hassle. Hope everyone's week is going by nicely.

Judy, thinking of you and wishing you a speedy recovery!
