Hello everyone and Welcome to the JULY Cut RAK! Sorry I am so late starting the new thread his month. Grandkids are visiting for the summer and that makes things pretty hectic at my house!

This is a great opportunity to get cuts off of cartridges you don't have! Sometimes we would like a couple of cuts off a cart. and don't want to buy it just for those few cuts, so this way we can get them! Or to get a few cuts off a newly released cart and see if you think you might want it! Anyone can join, just post your wishes and grant some to others off of cartridges you have! Please try to send them in a timely manner and if you have any questions about the cuts ask the wisher! Here are a few guidelines for our cut RAK:

Each person is allowed 5 wishes per month. Let's keep it at Cricut cuts. When putting your wishes please include:
1. what cartridge it is from (specify if it is a CCR or Imagine cart)
2. which cut (s) you want
3. the size you would like the cut
4. Color preferences if you have any

When someone grants a wish you requested, PLEASE go back to your original post, click EDIT at the top and mark the wish as GRANTED. This saves a lot of confusion as the month goes on and more people are wishing and granting! Also pm your mailing address to the grantor.

If you are asking for a lot of cuts from one cartridge, maybe break it up into a couple of wishes, or don't be surprised if the granter only says they will cut a few of them. I think 4 or 5 cuts per wish is a reasonable request if you want more than that from one cartridge, please break them up into multiple wishes.

If anyone has any questions, please pm me or post them here on this thread!

If you have not completed cuts you promised from the previous month, please contact the person you are cutting them for with an update and complete them before posting your new wishes or granting cuts for this month! If someone has granted you cuts but you haven't heard back from them or received the cuts within a couple weeks, send them a pm to remind them. We all get busy and sometimes forget!! If you still don't receive your cuts or a response from the grantor, please pm me.

Have fun and try to offer cuts to others as well as asking for your own cuts!! Please try to do the cuts you offer in a timely manner! And don't send cuts to others that you wouldn't want to use yourself!

Example of how to post wishes:

1. NAME OF CARTRIDGE
1. which cut you want, color choices, size you would like it and how many you want.
2. maybe another cut off the same cartridge, color choices, size, how many.

2. NAME OF CARTRIDGE
1. which cut you want, color choices, size you want, and how many.

3.
4.

Here are my July wishes:

I would like 25 of the 3-D pumpkins from the CTMH Artiste cart. Various sizes and pumpkin colors...feel free to get creative by using printed papers as well as solid colors. They will be used as small table decorations during my fall card classes. I will also be adding some acorns, leaves, and turkeys. I am going to list this same wish for all 5 of my wishes this month, so please split it up. I do not want one person to have the burden of making 25 pumpkins. Also, mail them flat...I will put them together. I do not have this cart, so do not know what sizes to ask for, so use your best judgement.

1)CTMH Artiste........3-D Pumpkin........5.........various sizes, pumpkin colors

2)same as above.....ENTIRE REQUEST GRANTED BY CricutNat, RECEIVED, THANK YOU!

3)same as above

4)same as above

5)same as above

Thanks in advance to my granters. These are wishes. Any sizes, colors, and/or amounts will be greatly appreciated. Blessings, GG.

HELP!!!!!

To all you out there that put these cuts togetherBigGrin

I am struggling to do my layers in the correct order. I usually have to study the picture in order to get them right.

Is there a certain order or something that you put them together by.
Usually you have the shadow and then the item it self. The one I am doing now has 3 more layers. Is there a specific order to add them on?

Any help would be appreciated. I spend way too much time trying to figure out how to layer, that there must be an easier way.LOL LOL

I have lots of cartridges that use multiple layers and would love to be able to use them more if I could figure an easier way to do themBlushing Blushing Blushing

THANKS!!!!!!

Jean, in many cases the images if cut in the order (base, base-shift, layer 1, layer 1-shift, so on) will assemble in that order. from Bottom to Top. However if two layers fit perfectly on top of each other as to have something like just eyes show through I will glue those 2 together before gluing to the base. because its easier to line up. I always leave a shadow for last. Images like the Disney ones don't always work in this matter though due to the large number of tiny pieces. Hope this helps.

if you let me know what cut exactly your working on I can look at it and let you know what order I'd assemble in.

ThanksBigGrin I will try doing it in the order you say. Base, base shift, layer1, layer1 shift. I always leave the shadow for last because sometimes I don't like to add it. I have done a couple Disney princess heads and they came out okay. The bigger the better to assemble though

I do have 2 pieces like you say where only a small part shows thru. I figured I should glue them together first.

Thanks so much. If I need more help, I will let you knowBigGrin

I posted your suggestion in my Cartridge swap because a couple people were also asking the best way to assemble. Thanks again!!!!

Jean, What cartridge are you having trouble with the layering for? Older cartridges, for example, are a pain in the butt to layer, and yes, following CowGirlUp's advice, cut and glue in order of layers, I'm a bit of a nerd, if I'm going to make an involved cut, I do multiples - if I'm going to cut princesses, I'll cut as many as will fit and keep the pieces on the mats, cut out all layers, then proceed to piece them together in order, keeping the pieces on the mats. Then, if my time is interrupted, they are all in a safe, controlled location.

And yes indeed, with those disney cartridges, the bigger, the better! I used to work in an LSS and when we would cut them, it was tedious work!

Godot's Girl - I will be happy to cut pumpkins for you - I have to mail your butterflies out, and since you want these flat and in various sizes, I can do that! I will do 10 for you to start, and if no one else can grant, I will do the rest. It is a great way for me to explore the cartridges that I own - I am a CTMH rep (for now) and the more I use the cartridges, the more likelly I will be to remain an consultant! They look pretty easy to cut and I have more paper than I will use in a lifetime, especially fall themed paper. BigGrin BigGrin BigGrin

Thanks

I also try and keep the cuts on the mat until I assemble them!!!!! One benefit of having several matsBigGrin No lost pieces that way.
I am cutting a car(pg 31 I think) in Art Deco. The trouble I had was that the cut on the bottom left had 3 pieces and these were layered between other cuts like the 2 light colored layersBigGrin
I did get it assembled finally!!!!
Now to do cuts of a man & a woman. I want to make her outfit out of a special paper so I will do a trial run first to see exactly what cut I will need for this paper.

Godot's Girl - this is such an easy cut, and I noticed that you were flaked on in the Cheap, Cheap swap, so please, because that was crummy, let me do these cuts - all of them - and send them to you with the butterflies. I already have the paper picked out and put aside. I've actually started cutting. If you have not put these together, I will add a link to a YouTube tutorial for assembly, as it is a little bit tedious and I have not the slightest idea where my instructional manual for the catridge it!

So, count on me for all the 25 3-d pumpkins!

Oh CricutNat, that is so sweet of you, and if you are certain it will not be stressful to do so many, then I am happy to have you do them. again, they do not have to be large, as most of the table space will be taken up with card making, so so whatever you think is best. I would definitely appreciate the tutorial link, as I do not have the cart, if they are not straightforward in the assembly. You are awesome! Blessings, GG.

Godot's Girl - the butterflies from June are all finished - phew!
The 3-d pumpkins are all cut and will be sent as well. Will have to wait to ship until Thursday, but will have packed nicely, with a tracking number as well - Not messing around with this super duper package!

Take Care,
Natalie

Hi there,

I'm working on cuts from Tiny Treasures for a swap and can double up on cuts for you. Any particular cuts you'd like? Sizes? Colors? Don't hesitate on being specific, it actually makes it easier on me. BigGrin

mom2001...I can do your Total Sports request. Just want to clarify on the soccer cuts: you want red shirt and shorts with white numbers, and then I am not sure...blue shorts with white shirt and numbers? Just not understanding, sorry. I will get these out by the weekend. I just had minor surgery, so need a few days to recover. GG

Hi GG!

Take time and heal from your surgery. I'm in no rush for the cuts.

Sorry for the confusion. I'll try to make it simple and I'm changing from the original.

shorts - navy blue
shirts - navy blue with red or white accents if they are needed

Does that make sense?
