Hello all - I am looking to purchase an Explore but want to make sure it will work for my application. I am cutting synthetic leather (made of vinyl) that has an adhesive back to it and a piece of backing paper protecting the adhesive. Typically the adhesive backing doesn't stick to most things (just doing its job) but I am wondering...

1. will the backing stick to the mat? and if not can I tape it to the mat?

2. do you think the deep cut blade will cut through the material and the adhesive without gumming up the blade?

thanks in advance for any advice!

There is a strong grip mat but I don't know if it would actually hold the backing paper. You might need to tape it to the mat. I've done that with adhesive backed felt.

Here's a link to the cut list. . .maybe there is a material listed that is similar to what you need to cut:

Thanks so much! One follow up question...in the second column it says "multi-cut". Is that a setting in the machine I would set it to so it is 3X or whatever the respective multi-cut recommended is?

Hi Brian, this is Cricut JoAnn. The multi cut is a setting on the machine that you will be able to adjust when you change the material you are cutting.
