This quarter the print then cut feature is supposed to be enabled for the Explore.
My Distress Paint kit arrived today and decided to label them. I just couldn't wait until september, so I came up with a way to make sure the printed labels got cut right.
Instead of printing and adding cutting marks for the explore to read, I did a kiss cut technique to cut the circles on the adhesive sheet first and then printed the cutting marks only and shifted the image to be printed so it would fit the pre cut circles.
I know it sound complex but it was actually very simple and came out great.
Now I want the rest of the distress paint colors!

Hey!

This seems like a great idea as i find the quality of the print from the cricut appalling and you can't change the settings.

How did you line it up so well?

Thanks!

Nicky

The quality of print is not from Cricut, it is your printer.

But my printer will print the image from a different program perfectly, cricut can only support low res images and theres no way to change the print settings.

When I click the printer icon, there is a blue sentence that comes up and I click on that. That is where you change your printer preferences. Hope this helps you. Smile

I have mainly used the Print then Cut feature of the Explore, and my HP Photosmart 7510 printer, prints beautifully. It is an Inkjet printer, and the inks will smear on some applications, unless I spray something on the printouts to seal them. But as far as Colors etc. - they are really nice and vibrant and true to what I expect them to be. Prints also may come out differently depending on the material you use, for the Print then Cut option you do have to Print on "White" or very light colored material, and must be something labeled "Printable" and that your printer can handle going through the machine.

Plus there is a size restriction, images can be no larger than 6x8 depending on the Internet Browser you are using. Hopefully one of the changes in the future, will be the ability to print and cut larger image sizes.

But for me, I'm a happy printer and cutter!!
I'm attaching a collage picture of some little Christmas houses table favors I printed then cut with my Explore, I think the colors of the houses came out great, everyone who saw them and took home (they held m&m's) were amazed at the details of the cuts.
