update 8/4---We are full and you each will make 15 ATC's following the theme listed for you.
Happy crafting

Fall ATC Challenge

I have every confidence in those of you that have been in my challenges before that you will find this one just as much fun!!!!! I hope you step up to the challenge and get out of that comfort zone!!!!!!
We will be making ATC’s using one of the following themes. I want an assortment of ATCs this time so let me know your choice when you sign up. First come first serve for themes. LOL.
Autumn, Halloween, or Thanksgiving.

The CHALLENGE will be to use a STENCIL and a STAMP.
Your background piece MUST be stenciled. See pictures in post#15 of examples of stenciling and stamping. You can use stencils by Tim Holtz, Craftersworkshop or make your own with your Cricut

You MUST use some sort of stamp on your ATC.

You can use sprays, paints, stains, inks, gelatos, markers, or mixed media with your stencil.
Your backgrounds do not need to be exactly the same. I sometimes stencil a whole sheet and then cut them to size.
As for the rest of your ATC, anything goes as long as you follow your theme.

ATCs are 2 ½” X 3 ½” mini works of art that you decorate as you would a card.

1. PLEASE, PLEASE use at least 2 layers to ensure the sturdiness of the ATC. Do your best work and make sure everything is trimmed and glued well. Your backs should only have your info on them, nothing else.
2. Double check your ATC’s and trim if necessary. If you can see the base layer from the front and vice versa, you need to trim them!!!! It looks sloppy when these edges show.

Due Date is Saturday Sept 20th. This will give you 6 weeks to complete your ATC.
This is the last day for me to receive your ATCs, not a last mailing date. I will be strict with this. If life happens and you need to drop out, please let me know as soon as possible. Pm me for my address anytime if you don’t allready have it.

IMPORTANT --If you haven’t been in any of my swaps before, please read everything carefully before you commit. I will NOT allow flakers, late senders or non-communicators. If you have any questions, fell free to ask before you sign up.
Please subscribe to the thread and check in every week or so.
As in all my swaps, I have the right to refuse anyone if I think it will jeopardize the swap. This may seem harsh but part of my duty as hostess is to take care of my swappers and make sure they get what they signed up for. We are all adults and I have no desire or time to babysit.

If I don’t have your email address, please pm that information to me when you signup. I need another way to contact you in case there are problems with the message board

Make sure you sign the backs of your ATCs. Most artists include a title, their MB name, date and number of card if it is part of a series (e.g., 1 of 12).

Please send all of the ATCs to me as it makes it much easier for me to sort without having to figure out who sent all or kept their own.
Package your ATC’s in a baggie with your MB name. Some people put their ATCs in individual bags. You don’t have to do this unless you want to.

If you want me to re-use your same packaging, just send a return label and the return postage. Stamps or cash, no checks please. I can usually reuse your packaging but I prefer a padded envelope or box to protect the contents. I do not require tracking but it may be worth it in case your package gets lost.
If you want your ATCs returned in a flat rate box, the cost is $5.25 including DC#

I have some people from the last ATC swap that are signed up automatically.

I will post pictures once the swap is completed and mailed backBigGrin

Sign me up!!!

First choice is Halloween but if that's no longer available then Thanksgiving works, too.

P.S. Main header for this swap says due date 9/10 but information in first post says Saturday, 9/20. :)

Hi - I be ignorant,Blushing but "stenciling" is something I dont do....and I am confused as to what kind you are talking about. I have seen people use a stencil to paint a wall border, and I have used a stencil to trace a pattern onto paper with a pencil/pen. I have also seen stencils for embossing by hand...so what specifically do you mean by it has to be stenciled ?

Here are some examples of stenciled backgrounds and stamping. Your background paper must be stenciled. Your stamp can be just words or the focal point of your ATC. The last 2 pictures
are examples of using TH stencils. So many possibilities using any type of paints, inks, markers, etc!!!!

I hope these help answer any questions you may have.

And now the fun begins. I worked on some stenciling last night, but not for sure if it is quite what I had in mind. I have a ton of stencils, but most of them have more than one item on the stenciling sheet. I did find one that I think will work, tried a mock-up and liked it, but then when I did the final project, somehow it did not quite look like my mock-up. I have a new set of autumn stamps which I have not even taken out of the package and have been waiting for something like this swap to open up.

Oh I am so excited to start these ! So we make 15 of them right ? Should they be flat or have embellishments on them ? It seemed that your samples were all flat.

You can also try making your own stencils using your cricut. Bet you could make some cool designs!!!!!
I am probably going to use a TH stencils so I have been looking thru his blog for some ideasBigGrin
I am going to try and stencil a full 8 1/2 X 11 sheet and then cut them up. Not sure how it will come out but we will see. Plenty of time to play around!!!

Yes, we are doing 15 all the same.

Good questionSmile They all do look flat. Some of them are actually cards!!!!
With the samples I posted, I basically wanted to show the stenciling background.
You can do ANYTHING you want after the stenciling as long as the size is 2 1/2 X 3 1/2.

My plan (right now anyway)is to do my stenciling, add some heat embossing using a stamp or 2 and then adding some sort of embellishments.
Sometimes my plans don't turn out the way I envision them so I have to go with plan BLOL LOL

What I meant is that you can stencil on a whole sheet of paper and then cut them to ATC size.
Like Dawn did in the previous post.
Personally I would start with white paper and go from there but that is up to you.
