I am having trouble cutting the etched glass vinyl. It is very thin since its supposed to give the look of etched glass. I am trying to cut the date out (ex.August 16, 2014) but the letters come off as it is cutting and get stuck to the blade and messes up the entire thing. Any suggestions on what I can do? I have tried cutting with more and less pressure nothing seems to help. I have noticed it doing this on several of my "small" projects not just with this type of vinyl.

I know this might sound strange, but you might try adding blue tape over the top of where the image will be cutting out....just to give more stability. You don't have to lay it down over the entire image, but I would use it maybe 1/4" apart going up and down (one way). You won't have to press it down hard, but just lay it flat; and, you would need to take extra caution to pull it up, especially around all the edges.

I hope this might work for you.

It sounds like the vinyl is stuck to the backing very well. I would use a brayer and roll over it a few times before loading the mat.
