Sunnieday....thanks for the nice sketches. They are simple ones and open to a myriad of interpretations. Will you be posting an extra credit or would you like me to do it? It can be anything.

Here's the colors for this week. As always, they are here to add a little extra "zest" to the challenge. Use them or not, it's up to you. Have fun!

This card is # 2 and my last one from last week. The stamp is a digital one from Mo Manning. The stickers are by Frances Myer and Stickopotamus and are about 15 years old. LOL...I have a binder full of stickers and stencils from back in the day! Not sure what the paper is. It was a scrap and I didn't find a name on it. I know it was a single sheet and probably from Joanns.

I used the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder for the dark green paper area. I hope it shows up.

Can you tell that our little Princess will be wearing a uniform to school this year? I love the little black patten leather shoes she will wear.

Thanks, Dee (I meant to say that the image is outlined with a light blue Copic ink, but it doesn't show up in the photo.

Sunnie - Thanks for hosting and providing the great sketches for us to work with. #4 looks like a real challenge sometimes it is hard to get that wave effect.

Dee - thanks for the vibrant colors to work with.

Dee - thanks so much for coming back and posting a card you finished from last week. I love the image and how you colored it to match the background paper. I love the little apple stickers and the pencils are perfect to carry out the school theme. I can't believe your princess is already old enough to go to school.
Thanks again for posting your card.

Well, since her mom and dad both work, she goes to day care. They decided she was ready for a more structured program, so she'll be in a church school. There's only a month between her and Emma.

Oh that's great, I thought her and Emma were very close in age.
Emma, her Mommy and little brother will be moving back to Arizona in December while
Emma's Daddy (my grandson) gets deployed. Emma is extremely close to her Daddy and I am sure
it will be hard on her so we will just have to keep her busy

Sunnie,
Thank you so much for Hosting this challenge and for the CAS sketches. I want to get them all done by this week-end, I have a couple of projects going on I want to finish up. The Ex. Credit is very different, I like it very much.

Dee
Thanks for the Ad Colors, they actually make a nice combo.

Do come and give it a try. It's the bet way to learn. If you finish a card that you're not satisfied with, post it and ask what we think is missing or what would improve it. We used to do that a lot. It's a case of sometimes being to close to the card. I also like to look at cards that I like and try to pinpoint what it is about them that I like. It's all a learning process and the more cards you do, the easier it gets and the better they get.

Hi Sunnieday!
Nice you were able to get your samples finished and posted...Thanks!

#1 - Love this card, so simple and pretty. Like all the stamping and coloring you did. Is the pink paper embossed, it looks very pretty.
#2 - Like the center, so pretty and delicate. The whole center reminds me of a ladies very dainty handkerchief. Very nice
#3 - The faux stitching of the oval center really makes it pop. The stamped flowers at the corners look nice and bring out the colors of the BG paper. Nice!
#4 - In Ad Colors - Too cute!! The image is perfect for the sentiment...truly a kid at heart! Is the sentiment a CTMH stamp, love it!?

DeeScraps
First, thanks for your response to my question on your #4 card from last week. And, I do have the Mini Monsters cart but have never used it much. Thanks for the heads up on the font...this is the second time you have lead me to look up a font you used only to find out I have the cart for it, but never thought the carts had any sentiments on them. Thank you!

#2 last week - Love it! This card is beyond cute and what a great keepsake for her Mom to save for your Little Princess. I see she is carrying a "signature" lunchbox, crown and all...so girly! Love the image and great job on the coloring...but just a question, how come you didn't color her hair black, like in her picture?. What did you use to make the shoes look like patent leather? Awesome card!

BingoLady
#1 - Like the Background paper and butterfly cut. Which cart did you use for the scallop cut?

This is my #2 sketch card which I tweaked a little, I am a fanatic about following the sketches to the letter...but, I didn't use a star.

My #2 Sketch Card:
Clock - Artiste cartridge. The clock bottom layer I cut from cardstock that has a very pretty gold glimmer to it, doesn't show up very well on here. I used a tiny brad to hold the hands together.
Embossing - Cuttlebug "Clockworks" folder
Sentiment - Computer-generated which I matted and popped with 3-D tape
The black/White dots are Enamel Accents by Ranger. The black/gray cardstock is from a pack my DD bought which has a bunch of 8x8 designs that resemble tye-dyed material. Don't know where she got it.

Well I got my sketch #1 doneBigGrin
It is also done in the ad colors.
The background paper is from Best of K&Company stack.
The get well soon is cut from Paper Lace 2 and the butterfly
is cut from Artiste. The center oval I cut out using Spellbinders and also
cut the scalloped oval with my Spellbinders to frame the cut out.
The butterfly is cut 3 times, the back layer is glued directly to the inside of the card
and the top 2 layers stick through the oval whole. From looking at the sketch I believe
this is what Sunnie intended for this sketch. TFL

Sunnie your granddaughter Capri is adorable, I love the blue eyes. I don't blame you for wanting to spend time with her, grandchildren are wonderful. I can't wait till later this month
when we get to meet are new great-grandson that was born in June his sister Emma.

Bingolady - very nice colors and plaid paper on your sketch #1 Like all the layers on the butterfly.

Turtlebug - Fabulous #2 card, I was stumped by the strips but you made it look easy. What a great theme and love how you carried it out through the whole card even with the embossing folder, love the colors. Great guy card.

Well am going to try and pick out papers for my next card before our poker night tonight.

Hi Ladies!
I'll start working on my cards for this challenge today.
I have a family lunch after going to some stores to pick up some pleather to finally finish my distress inks storage (a new one).

Thanks Sunnie for hosting, and the add color are so summery we even have a sunny day today! All your cards look so nice. The sentiment on #4 is so funny. I feel like that, grown old, but not grown up, lol Woot. Capri is such a pretty baby!

Dee, your #2 from last week is great, I love swiss dots embossing folder.

Bingolady, butterflies are always a good card choice.

TurtleBug, Black and white is great and the clock cut a little bit colored is perfect for the sentiment. I love enamel accents so much, I ordered some Viva Decor pen form amazon to make them myself, can't wait for them to get here to use them and show them to you girls.

NanaDonnaI love your paper! so psychodelic!. I'm always a little bit afraid of using patterned paper and you are so good at it.LOL

As I was writing this post I got an idea for the extra credit card, wish me luck!

Alrighty.

Bingolady: Love the colors on your #1. Very pretty

Turtlebug: love your clock card. Could be used for either female or male. great idea. I have a hard time with guy cards

Nannadonna: Your colors are wonderful together. Purdy! Yes, it is the explore and it is a square doily from the Art Philosophy cartridge. I welded two of them together.

Boy I haven't heard that word in a very long time LOL! re: psychedelic

Thanks for the compliment on the papers I use. Believe me it isn't easy, more times than not it takes me way longer to pick out my papers then it does to make the card. It is not unusual for me to take an hour or 2 to pick out the paper, not to mention change my mind about 10 times in the process
