hi Nadia - thanks for the tutorial. Just wondering what tpye of glue (stick) has to be used? I have a mini low temp gun and multi temp sticks. Do you think i would need the hot (permanent) glue sticks instead? thanks

I would lend a guess at
15 x 5 1/4 with a 1/4 gutter/spine incorperated in the 15

This is great! I've had the My Story for a couple of years now and was wondering how to either make or where to buy the glue strips. I have access to a large cutter at school so can make larger books by buying poster board and painting, stamping, spritzing etc to decorate as wanted. Now I can put some ideas to work. Thanks for sharing this with us!

I am a school teacher and your suggestion is great, because now we can bind our classroom books. Wasn't quite sure how to do it without the expense of purchasing the glue strips. Great idea!

This is excellent! Thanks!

Also I am going to keep my eye out for really nice used books on the cheap. That way I can take out the pages and use them for my own binding.

Nadia,

Thanks for posting this. That's a pretty interesting method. How sturdy is the finished product? Specifically the spine?

It seems like it's kind of similar to using something like this Spine Here?

I bought my Your Story Photo from HSN for a specific project I had in mind. Each year the women's group at my church sponsors a Spa Day for the school-age girls. I always like to give them something as a reminder of their day, and this year I decided to do a Spa Day Scrapbook kit. I made the binders out of white cardstock. I bought the 12x24 mat so I could get them all the same size. I used about 10 sheets of 4x6 cardstock for the pages. My book spine was only about 1/8" so I had to do a few trial ones to get it exact. I bound the books similiar to the tutorial here. I cut various designs from my Cricut carts and some designs from my Pazzles: hands, feet, paper doll girl, dress, purse, tags, flowers, borders, words etc. I put the books and cutouts into a baggie and labeled it Spa Day Memories Scrapbook Kit. Well, it was a hit. All the girls loved them, even one special Down's little girl who happpens to love doing scrapbooks. Our childrens' ministry director who also teaches specail ed. has already asked me to help her do something similiar for her students next year. It is so rewarding to be able to do things with our cutters that bless others.

Oh my goodness, Nadia! Thank you for this! I have the Your Story and was wondering if I would have to order more glue strips from HSN.....haven't checked yet to see how much they cost, but they say they sell them there. This will be SO much better. Give hubby a hug!

I want to say THANKS too! I'm fairly new to Your Story and haven't tried to bind yet, but this is such a stress reliever -- now I can try (maybe a trial run) and avoid fear over ruining a cover. SOOO grateful to you and hubby!

Thank you SO much for coming up with this great idea! Isn't it nice of PC to come out with these things and then make it very hard to find "parts" for them???

Once you make these covers using card stock and a glue gun, can you bind them using the big Your Story as well? I ordered the large one and it should be delivered today, anxious to try it out! Thanks
