I was away when UPS delivered my Cricut Expression 2 yesterday, so it was a pleasant surprise to see all of my goodies, stacked neatly inside my entryway when I arrived back home today. Luckily, my son came home from work and brought them all inside for me. I went on a shopping frenzy over at HSN last Tuesday!
Of course I had to immediately open up the E2 and try it out. I made this very simple card using the new machine and the Just A Note cartridge, which came preloaded, IN ABOUT 20 MINUTES! No kidding! I calibrated and just starting designing. I was pretty pleased that I only had to refer to the manual twice. I don't do well with following instructions. I like to just jump right in and experiment.
I used the card feature from the cart along with the layers. One thing I noticed is that my shadow layer of the mouse seems to be a bit off. Not sure if it's supposed to be like that or not.
I will be able to spend more time working on the E2 later in the week. I find that having experience with Design Studio, the Gypsy and the Imagine made it much easier to navigate through the screens. However, I think for all of the novices out there, you will have no problem getting acquainted with this new Cricut.
All of the cuts are at 5.25" inches, using Relative Size. Looking at it now, I think it needs some embellishments, but I wanted to share the card in it's simple form, so you can see just how quick and easy it was. The two small strips of paper at the bottom of the flaps, as well as the inside mat, were done with a paper cutter.

I'm going to try to make a card with just a note tomorrow. I tried today but I was having user error problems I think so hopefully I'll be able to get one done tomorrow. Your card looks great.

I love folding cards like this! I don't own the E2 Bored so let's hope there will be a cartridge that can cut this style soon.

Cheers.
