does that take up a lot of space on our computers?

I'm hoping Mallory will answer this question for us.

The reason I ask is that if some of us don't have a lot of capabilities on our computers, it seems opening a lot of files in one session might bog them down to where they won't work as quickly. And, over the course of posts, many of us have pointed out it's better not to have other programs open while you're working in CCR, if you want the most efficiency and especially if your computer is slow to begin with.

I have noticed a number of OPs saying everything is sooooooo slow in CCR. While I have never had this problem myself, many do. Just yesterday, I was asking someone who said how slow it was yesterday (I worked in it about half an hour yesterday and was in it a few other times during the day--everything always works fast for me, 99% of the time, and I had no problems in it yesterday), what kind of computer they had and other specifics. She had exactly the same things I did (WINDOWS XP, DSL Broadband connection, 2Gig RAM MEMORY) and was also working on the Expression yesterday, as I was. So, it's hard to know why so many find CCR so slow.

Of course, part of the solution for those who already find it slow is to only have one file open at one time. OR, are there reasons people have several files open at the same time?

Just wondering.

You can only have one file open in CCR at a time. When you open another file, the previous one is saved then closed.

That's correct. Craft Room will close your previous project once you open a different project (or start a new one). Craft Room may run slow if you are running other applicatons on your computer and using up a lot of CPU. You might also need to check that you are using a high speed internet connection or make sure you are not maxing out your internet bandwidth(activities like streaming video, for instance, consumes a lot of bandwidth).
