DIY Glamorized Handbag

by Dezi Moss | Jan 17, 2014

You guys ready for this? This is probably my favorite DIY project I have ever made.  Ever. If you are anything like me, you love to be trendy, but unique. This week’s project is both trendy and one of a kind! So here we go: take an average handbag and make it into something glamorous!

Here is what you will need:

Cricut Expression® 2 machine
Cricut Craft Room® design software
Standard Grip Cricut® 12x12 cutting mat
Cricut® digital cartridge, Edge to Edge
Cricut® Iron-on – I like anything that shines or sparkles
Cricut® Tools, Weeder
Iron and press cloth
Handbag

Download the file for “Glamour Purse Design.”

Adjust the image so that it is the appropriate size for you handbag.

Cut and weed the images from the iron-on material (be sure your machine is adjusted to create a kiss cut following Cricut's kiss cut recommendations).

Use a press cloth and iron to apply the images to your handbag using the helpful Cricut Iron-on application instructions

Tip: Ironing on pleather is a little tricky. It took quite a bit of ironing to get the iron-on material to adhere to the pleather, so do not fret if it takes a while. Also, the more you iron, the little wrinkles will disappear.

There you go! Isn’t it awesome? Now go to the mall and show off your fabulous bag!

Peace & Love
