Typography Cake Topper

by Dezi Moss | May 30, 2014

My best friend turns 23 this week and I am so excited to celebrate! I decided to make this fun topper for her cake. You can make this cake topper too in just a few, simple steps.

Here is what you will need:
Cricut Explore™ machine
Cricut Design Space™ software
12" x 12" StandardGrip Cricut® mat
Black cardstock (1)
White cardstock (1)
Paper adhesive
Black dowels
Hot glue gun
Cake

Click here to open the “Typography Cake Topper” project in Cricut Design Space™. When the project opens, read through the instructions and click “Make it Now”.

Follow the instructions in Cricut Design Space™ to cut the topper from cardstock. The project file creates a cake topper that measures about 7" w x 5" h.

You should have four cuts of each letter.

Layer and glue the letters on top of each other.

Glue the letters to the white squares.

Glue the squares to the black dowels.

Place in cake as desired!

Is there an update somewhere to correct the absence of an r???

There is no "i" in the letters to make HAPPY BIRTHDAY with. Also the 'r' is upside down and backwards.
