Create these darling pencils as a special treat for the first day of school to give to your children or students.

CRICUT ®: WHAT WAS USED

OTHER MATERIALS NEEDED

  • Silver thread
  • 1 package of Rolo candy
  • 1 Hershey Kiss candy
  • Adhesive
  • Paper cutter
  • Yellow cardstock
  • Light pink cardstock
  • Red cardstock
  • Tan cardstock
  • Light green cardstock
  • Green cardstock

STEP-BY-STEP How-TO INSTRUCTIONS

Cricut Cuts from Type Candy Font: Letters
Brown N (1” Better with Chocolate + “n”)
Brown O (1” Better with Chocolate + “o”)
Brown 2 (1” Better with Chocolate + “2”)

Cricut Cuts from Preserves: Apple
Red apple (2” <Apple1>)
Tan apple core (2” Shift + <Apple1-s>)
Light Green leaves (2” Layer + Shift + <Apple1>)
Light Green leaves (2” Layer + Shift + <Apple1>)
Use paper trimmer to cut one 4” x 5” piece of yellow cardstock, and one 1 ½” x 3 ½” pink cardstock. Wrap pink cardstock around one end of the package of Rolos, leaving half of the cardstock hanging off the edge and adhere. Fold in remaining pink cardstock, as if you were wrapping a present. Adhere loose ends to create nicely folded edges. Wrap yellow paper around the entire length of the Rolos, and adhere.
Add adhesive to the Hershey Kiss and place on the opposite end of the Rolos from the pink cardstock.
Wrap silver thread where the pink and yellow cardstock meet. Adhere to cardstock, leaving some extra thread to attach the apple.
Creating Cricut Cuts:
Create “no 2”. Adhere to the yellow paper.
Create apple cuts. Adhere layers.
Attach the apple using the thread by looping through one of the holes in the tan cardstock, and securing with a knot.
Write in child’s name, or use your Cricut to cut out letters.
